Strategic planning for Bird & Bird, London
Bird & Bird is an international law firm, with over 1200 lawyers in 28 offices across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
In 2016 they relocated to new Corporate Head Quarters in New Fetter lane, London. The 140,000 sq. ft building on 12 floors (above ground) was designed by MCM.
Initially Ian worked as a consultant with The Furniture Practice to the B&B Head of Estates, helping his team devise the space planning / stacking strategy for the building.
Since their occupation, Ian & his team have undertaken a series of replanning projects on the site. As well as a ‘refresh / greening & softening’ of their reception area.
Ian has most recently been helping the Estates team, by preparing space planning options that examine how they might adapt their workplace to facilitate the safe return of their staff following the Covid-19 ‘lockdown’. The reconfiguration planning aims to maximise occupancy numbers whilst ensuring that a safe distance is maintained between their employees.
